MONTEITH SOLICITORS LIMITED IS A NICHE LAW FIRM PROVIDING ADVICE TO PRIVATE INDIVIDUALS, BUSINESS OWNERS, FAMILIES, TRUSTS AND CHARITIES

*** Coronavirus Operational Update ***

The COVID-19 virus is having an unprecedented impact on our daily lives, both personal and business.  This note is intended to provide an update on our operational processes throughout this difficult period.

As a business we aim to provide a high level of client service, as well as providing a safe environment for all staff involved in the business.  To achieve both of these goals we remain fully operational, but there are some elements of our service that will clearly be slightly different during this period and we would ask all of our clients for acceptance of that.

Every person in the business has always had the capacity to work from home and this is now happening throughout.  Although our central office phones are still operational, where possible we’d ask that contact is made through email, using either the individual’s own email address or enquiries@monteithsolicitors.com.

We are not offering face to face meetings at this time, but where necessary we can arrange this via FaceTime, Zoom, Skype or the like.  For those areas of work, such as Wills and Powers of Attorney, where face to face meetings are normally required, the Law Society rules have been changed to permit video meetings in certain circumstances.  For more information on what is permissible please get in touch.  It is absolutely not the case that anyone without a Will or Power of Attorney can no longer obtain one whilst the restrictions are in place.

The whole situation is changing on a day to day basis, and movement restrictions look likely to be with us for the long haul, but we wish to reassure all clients that we feel that we are already equipped to be able to deal with all matters as best we can.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish you and your families well.  Stay safe.

Monteith Solicitors Limited is a niche law firm providing advice to private individuals, business owners, families, trusts and charities. Amongst the areas specialised in are Wills and Succession Planning, Inheritance Tax mitigation, Asset Protection (including protecting assets from Matrimonial Breakdown, Business Failure and Long Term Care Fees), Powers of Attorney, Guardianships, Trusts and Charity Law.  Tom Monteith is qualified on these matters in England & Wales as well as in Scotland.

Our clients are based throughout Scotland, particularly in and around Glasgow, Inverness and across the Highlands.

Our aim is to work with clients to help them achieve their strategic goals across a number of different fronts and then adjust what’s required as personal or financial circumstances change. As part of this we frequently work with clients’ accountants, financial advisers, stockbrokers and other solicitors and we have strong relationships with a number of other advisers throughout Scotland.

If you would like to find out more or to arrange an initial meeting, please do not hesitate to contact us.
